We celebrated New Year's Eve at my parent's house with about 75 other people! All of my family was there (minus Becky and Zac) and then a lot of our cousins and their kids and aunts and uncles came as well to ring in the new year. It was a little crazy with so many people, but with the bounce house, the pinata, the horns and hats and lots of food the kids all managed to have a good time!
Big crowds and loud noises can get a little overwhelming for Jake, so Jon took him and Max home and put them to bed and left them with a babysitter. Nathan had no problem partying the night away!

New Year's Day we woke up early and drove up to Pasadena for the Rose Parade. This is a tradition I have been doing since I was born and now it's fun to pass it on to the next generation! We always get up there early to get good seats and let the kids play around.

Max and Will had fun playing catch. Max was funny and would only play if he was sitting on the curb!

The silly string was definitely a highlight for the boys. I think they went through at least 4 cans each!

Finally the parade started and the boys loved it. Jake got excited every time he saw horses since they are his favorite animal. Nathan loved watching all of the different floats and bands go by. At the beginning of the parade they had a band where everyone in it was blind. As they marched by everyone stood up and cheered loudly for them and it was really touching. Jon and I both teared up since we obviously have a soft spot for people with special needs. They were followed by a float with WWII veterans which was pretty cool as well.
There were a few famous people this year including Jack Hanna...
and Jackie Chan- I know, pretty exciting!
After the parade we went back to my parent's house for leftover soup and to do the sibling and cousin gift exchanges and then we came home and slept! Oh, and Max discovered that he loves fruit leathers!!!

Happy New Year! Looks like a great time, as always! Sorry we missed the party of 75??!! Wow, that is insanity! Where were Becky and Zac? Maybe we'll crash your family party next year ;). Love the pictures.... Max is too cute. He just cracks me up every time I look at his smiling face.
New Year's sounded like a CRAZY good time! That's fun the whole fam (almost) was at your parents'! Nathan is quite the little party animal!
Looks like so much fun, I am bummed we didn't make it. One of these years it is going to happen! The boys are so cute in their matching hats. Happy New Year!

The Rose Bowl Parade is always so much fun! I am glad we've been able to come to it with you! And your New Year's Eve party is always a blast! Your family is growing so much! I cannot believe how many grandchildren there are now! And your boys are so adorable! They are such fun, happy children! Hope this year is splendid! :) Annie.
