This is the place... for vacation!

We had such a fun time during our trip to Utah last week. We left last Tuesday night and drove to Mesquite. We stayed in a hotel that night which the boys thought was so much fun. We didn't arrive until 1:00 in the morning and they stayed up until 2:00 or so running around and jumping on the beds (I'm sure our neighbors loved us!). The next morning they continued to run and jump around while we got ready- crazy kids!

We arrived in Delta Wednesday afternoon and spent the afternoon visiting with Jon's family. Jon and I then went with his sisters to see the new Indiana Jones movie that night. We really liked it (except for the weird ending)!

The next day we took the boys bowling at the local bowling alley. Nathan is doing his bowling pose that Jon taught him in this picture!

Jake's ball would take about 10 minutes to make it down the lane, but when it finally hit the pins he would get SO EXCITED! It was pretty cute to watch.

Jon's sisters were helpful as usual and the boys loved all of the attention!

After bowling we went to lunch and then Jon and I went golfing, something we love to do but rarely get the chance to do together. I played horribly, but Jon played really well so I'll just include a picture of him!

Friday morning we left Delta and headed to Cedar City for a little reunion with some of our friends from dental school. We stayed at Natalie and Jeremy's house. They just built a custom house on the golf course and it is so beautiful. They were great hosts and made it a very pleasant stay!

Friday night we went to the Tuacahn in St. George and saw the Sound of Music. Other than being a little hot, it was really fun. I had never been there before and can't wait to go back!

This is Nathan with Natalie's daughter, Brea. Nathan put these bunny ears on her and she was such a good sport to wear them!

All of the kids played together so well the whole weekend. It's fun to see them all growing up and interacting more.

They have a home theater system in their basement so while the boys went golfing on Saturday the girls all watched the Office reruns in there. We all love that show and were laughing pretty hard!

Their house is on the 17th hole and so when they got to that hole they picked up all of the older kids and let them golf with them the rest of the way. Nathan had so much fun riding the golf cart and trying to hit golf balls.

Janae, Andrea and I all had babies within the past 5 months so we tried to take a picture of them together! Janae's daughter, Audrey, is 5 months, Max is 2 and a half (even though he is the biggest!) and Andrea's son, Logan is 1 month old.

The guys pretty much talked dentistry the entire trip and never got bored of it. Jon was lucky to make such good friends in dental school and really enjoys getting together with them.

These are some of my closest friends and I'm glad that our friendships have remained strong over the past 2 years even though we all live in different states!

Saturday was my 30th birthday and so Jon made me my favorite chocolate cake and my friends gave me some really nice gifts. (Jon took me to the Brad Paisley concert the week before to celebrate). It was a fun birthday!



Jake stayed in Delta with his grandma and aunts while we went to Cedar City. He absolutely adores Jon's family and had such a great time. I think we might make this a tradition to have the kids spend some one on one time with grandma each year. Today Jake cried for about a half hour saying that he wanted to go to Grandma's house!

While he was there he was swimming and wanted Grandma to get in with him. So without hesitation she took off her socks and shoes and got in with her clothes on! What a fun grandma!!! Jake also helped plant new grass, played with the neighbor's son, Zack, and their dog, Buddy, and just enjoyed getting so much attention from everyone. Thanks to all of Jon's family for making sure Jake had such a great time!

We drove home on Sunday and after sitting in hours of traffic and Nathan throwing up twice, we finally made it home safe and sound! We had such a nice trip, but it's always good to be home.

Good-bye Preschool

Jake had his last day of Preschool today (except for Summer school that starts on Monday, but Ms. Margie won't be teaching it). He was so lucky to have such a great teacher the past 2 years and we will miss her and the aides a lot next year. Jake has made a lot of progress and we know that it is because of Ms. Margie and all of his therapists and aides that have worked so hard and showed so much love towards him. Kindergarten scares me a lot, but hopefully Jake will do well!

Brad Paisley Concert

Five years ago Jon and I went to a Brad Paisley concert at a small venue in Vegas and we still talk about how fun it was. So for my 30th birthday (which is this Saturday, but we are going to be in Utah) Jon surprised me with tickets to go see Brad again, this time at a much larger venue! It was so much fun! I love all of his songs and I even got Jon to get up and dance with me!

Julianne Hough was one of the opening acts. Most of you know how much I love Dancing With the Stars so it was fun to see her trying to kick off her singing career.

I'd never heard of Chuck Wicks before, but he sings that Cinderella song that I really like and his other songs were fun as well.

Apparently Jewel is going country so she sang some of her country songs and a bunch of her older songs. We thought all of the opening acts were pretty good!

And finally Brad came out- Love him!!!

Random

So I always think of things I want to post on my blog, but I never seem to have time or I'm always typing with one hand while feeding the baby (like I am right now) resulting in a once a week post with lots of pictures and few words. I guess this is better than nothing so it's just going to have to do for now. So here is a random post about all of the things we have been up to lately.

We finally made it to the San Diego Zoo and let me tell you, it was so much better than the Santa Ana Zoo- mainly because they actually had animals!!!

One of the boys favorite things about the zoo was the foot massage chairs!

It's funny how interested we can all be with the hind end of a hippopotomus!

We actually didn't have any coins for them to ride this, but they still had fun just sitting on it and pretending!

Jon was cleaning out the garage one Saturday and I walked out to see the boys like this! Apparently they had strapped themselves in and tipped their seats over and were stuck in this position. I think it's a great idea for 'time outs'!!!

Carli and Justin are in their high school choir so I went to their end of the year concert last week.

When Carli came out she happened to be positioned right in front of one of the microphones. She proceeded to sing her group's 3 songs as loud as she could and lets just say that she doesn't have a lot of fluctuation in her voice, but boy, was she getting into it! My mom was dying, but we all got a good laugh out of it!!!

We took the boys to the beach last week and let them run around and play in the sand. It was such a beautiful day and not very crowded at all- just the way we like it!

Jake and Nate had fun burrying Jon in the sand and then jumping on top of him when there was nothing he could do about it!

We tried to fly a kite, but it was broken and despite all of Jon's attempts at fixing it, it never really took flight!

I finally captured Max smiling on camera. Look at those cheeks and dimples!

Christy and I took the kids to storytime yesterday. The story lady was doing face paintings, but the first little boy decided that he wanted a snake on his arm. So of course every kid after that then wanted a snake on their arm! Laney and Nathan were pretty proud of their snakes!

Last night our ward had a Hoedown and it was so much fun. We left the kids at home (except for Max who slept the whole time), ate good food and square danced the night away!

Overall, life is good!

Blessing Day

Today was Max's blessing day. Jon did a great job with the blessing and it was so nice to have a lot of our family and friends there for it. Here are some of the pictures of the day...

After Sacrament meeting Becky and Zac came to help me get things set up. Becky was impressed that I trusted Zac to set up the chips and dip all by himself!

Becky filled all of the chicken salad sandwiches- it was so nice of her!

Overall it was a great day. We missed all of our family and friends who weren't here, but we appreciate everyone who was able to come. We are so blessed to have Max in our family and it was fun to have a day to honor him!
