Dancing with the Stars...Again!

Some might argue that I am a little obsessed with the show, but for some reason I find it so entertaining! My sister-in-law, Bethany, got tickets for Monday night's show for me and my friends so Robyn, Cortney and I got all dressed up and headed to LA for a night on the town! We left at about 1:00, got up there by about 2:30, sat and waited in line until 4:00 and then sat in the theater and waited until 5:00 at which time the show started. It was a 2 hour show since both the men and the women were dancing. We sat up in the balcony so didn't get any camera time, but Bethany stayed after with her friends and got interviewed and they showed it on the results show tonight! We were going to stay after, but all three of us are pregnant and were so hungry by the time the show was over that we ran straight to the Cheesecake Factory for some food! While we were there we saw Kim Johnson, one of the dancers, and Carry Ann Inaba, one of the judges- pretty exciting, I know! Other star sitings during the show included Corbin Blue (not sure how to spell his name), Bob the Bachelor, Donny Osmond and the Caveman from that lame new show. Overall, it was fun to go to another taping and to spend a little time with just the girls! I just got an e-mail to get tickets to the next show, but I think I'll have to decline. I'm worried that I might be getting a little too obsessed!!!

Singin' in the Rain!

Last Saturday morning the boys were so excited to go out and play in the rain. They jumped in the puddles and ran around singing and playing. We need to get more rain here and then maybe we'll invest in raincoats and boots. Until then we'll just risk them getting sick to let them have a little fun!

Camelot

We took my parents to go see the play "Camelot" up at Royce Hall on UCLA's campus last night. This was our birthday present to them this year since I can never think of what to get them. My dad grew up watching the movie and anytime he has ever had to do karaoke he always picks a Camelot song. So I thought this was the perfect gift!

We stopped at El Pollo Loco on the way up (our treat, I know, we are big spenders!) and then sat in traffic for about 2 and a half hours listening to my dad sing Camelot songs! We got there just in time and walked in to see only about a quarter of the seats filled. Apparently this play wasn't a big sellout! My parents loved it (or they said they did) and Jon and I enjoyed the parts we were awake for! Overall it was fun to spend time with just my parents and to see one of the classics from their generation!

I'm only including this picture so that all of you nonbelievers will now believe how sick and pale and 9 months pregnant I already look!

Random Thoughts

I've been working on changing the background of my blog and have been having some trouble with it. I really don't like the one that I have ended up with, but it'll have to do for now. It's too busy to me and hard to read the color of the font against the background. I guess I'll have to keep working on it or just go back to my boring old one. We'll see...

So I am still feeling really sick, though the Zofran is continuing to take the edge off a little. I've been trying to get off the couch and get out a little more (thanks to my mom giving me a lecture on how I might feel a little better if I got out a little more and tried to do more- thanks, Mom!). I've mainly found that I am just exhausted by the end of the day, but I guess that is nothing new. I should only have 6 more weeks of the morning sickness, so that is nice.

I had another ultrasound yesterday and the baby looks really good. I can't believe how much "it" has changed in just a week and a half. I scheduled my next appointment for Oct.5 and they should be able to tell the sex of the baby then. I can't wait! Jon keeps telling me to expect a boy, but I don't think anything can prepare me to hear that we are having our 3rd boy. I also can't even imagine hearing that it is a girl, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Obviously the most important thing is that the baby is healthy, but it's still fun to get excited about finding out what we're having. I'll let everyone know as soon as we know!

I'm not sure why I am already showing and I am only 10 weeks along. I don't remember being this big this early with either of my other pregnancies. I am seriously considering pulling out the maternity clothes already since I don't fit into any of my clothes anymore. I just don't know if I can bear to do maternity clothes yet. I might have to continue wearing big shirts and unbuttoning my pants for just a little longer!

I'd like to end this random post with a shout out to Jon. He has been putting up with a lot having me be sick and pretty much doing nothing around the house. He comes home everyday and asks what he can make me for dinner. He then plays with the kids and puts them to bed and cleans the kitchen and picks up the mess that the boys have made all day. I really love him and don't treat him as well as he deserves. I don't know how I would get through this without him. For that matter, I wouldn't be going through this if it weren't for him!!! I love you, Jon!

So I've recently learned what I'm sure most of you already know about where the term 'blog' came from. Apparently it is an abbreviated form of the term 'web log'.

Zofran, Wicked, BYU Football and a Seizure

This pretty much sums up our weekend! I went to the doctor's on Friday and had another ultrasound. Everything looks really good and the baby's heartbeat is strong. I finally succombed and asked the doctor for some Zofran to help with the morning sickness and let me just say, that it really has helped. I still don't feel well, but it's taken the edge off just enough that I don't feel like a want to die all day long!

The Zofran came just in time since we had tickets to go see Wicked Friday night. We bought them way before I ever got pregnant and actually tried to give them away this week since I wasn't feeling too great. In the end we decided to go and we're so glad that we did. Jon and I both thought that it was just as good as when we saw it in New York last Summer. We went with my sister, Christy and her 3 oldest daughters. It was cute to see how excited her girls were to see it.

Saturday we went to to the BYU vs. UCLA football game. We left the boys home with a babysitter and went up with my family. Jon and I are seriously thinking that we are bad luck for BYU. They've lost every game we've been to in the last 5 years. We actually went out during the 3rd quarter to get food and they scored a touch down and as soon as we walked back in they scored their second touchdown and then the bad luck came back. We are seriously contemplating not going to the San Diego game! We actually had a good time even though they lost and were glad we went, bad luck or not!

So we got home from the game and I took the babysitter home. When I got back Jon was holding Jake since he woke up crying. About 5 minutes later Jake had a really bad seizure. It's so sad to just sit there and watch him having one knowing that there's nothing we can do about it. He finally finished and we held him while he slept for a while and then layed him down with the monitor in his room. He seems to be fine now so we're hoping he doesn't have another one for a while. Even though he is on medication, it doesn't stop the seizures completely and right now he seems to be having them about every six months. We are just so grateful that we were home when it happened and that the babysitter wasn't still here. We always tell the babysitters what to do if he has one, but how traumatizing for them to actually have to watch that.

So that was our crazy weekend. It's the most I've done since I started feeling morning sick and I am totally worn out today. It was nice to go back to laying on the couch all day! Sorry about the lack of pictures. I'm not looking too great these days and therefore am opting out of having pictures taken of me!

Jake's First Day of School

Today was Jake's first day of his second year of preschool. He goes to the speech and language preschool at one of our local elementary schools.

I think I was much more excited about the first day of school than Jake was at this point! He just wanted to keep watching Dora and did not want to get in the car.

Once we got to the school and the memories came flooding back he was much more excited about it!

He sat patiently on the curb with his friends waiting for everyone else to get there.

Once they were all there, they walked with Ms. Margie around the corner and to their classroom.

I honestly hadn't felt sad about this day at all, but once he started walking away and I couldn't see him anymore, I totally started crying and cried the whole way home! He's just so cute in his little backpack and I'm actually going to miss him while he's gone. He has the same teacher as last year, Ms. Margie, who I absolutely love. She is so patient with these little kids with special needs and she does a great job teaching them. We are very grateful that Jake gets to have her for another year!
