San Diego Zoo

At 3 1/2 weeks old we decided it was time for Maggie to take her first trip to the zoo and she did awesome! She sat in the Baby Bjorn the whole time while Jon ran around chasing the boys. We hadn't been to the zoo since Max was a month old so it was fun for all of us to go back and see all of the animals.

We missed the giraffes on our first loop so we had to walk all the way back around since they are Nathan's favorite animal!

Maggie was wiped out by the end of the day, but she still looked so cute in her little giraffe outfit!!!

Little League

This was Nathan's first year playing Little League and he loved it! He was on the Giants and he improved a lot throughout the season. He's a good little hitter and does a good job fielding the ball and throwing it to first base. I think he's got a long baseball career ahead of him!

Jake played his third year in the Challenger Little League Division and he did a great job! A professional photographer came to one of his games and let us download all of the pictures for free. These are some of my favorites...

Hawaii Surprise!

My parents invited everyone over to their house for dessert one Sunday night. They then gathered all of the grandkids into the family room and told them that they want everyone to celebrate their 60th birthdays this Summer and then they gave each kid an invitation. They all opened them at the same time and as soon as they got to the Location: Hawaii part everyone jumped up and started screaming and was so excited! My parents then gave everyone a lei and the celebrating continued! Abbey found an old frame and framed the invitation!

The boys are all so excited! Jake went up to every stranger he could find during the next week and exclaimed, "We're going to Hawaii!" He now tells all of us when we do something he doesn't like that we can't go to Hawaii anymore! Funny kid!

Maggie wasn't quite as excited, but she will be when the time comes!

So yes, 39 of us will all be boarding the same plane and heading to paradise in just 3 and a half months. The poor other people on that plane!!! We can't wait!

Jog-a-thon

Jake and Nathan had their Jog-A-Thon the end of March. Jake started off strong running full blast for a while, but he eventually started losing steam and had to walk a little bit! He did such a good job- it was fun to cheer him on! Thanks to my friend, Josie, for taking some of the pictures for us. It makes me want a better lens for my camera!

Nathan and I took turns running laps with him to keep him going!

Max cheered on from the sidelines!

It rained a lot the day before the Jog-a-thon so by the time it was Nathan's class's turn, they decided the field was too muddy for the kids to run. So instead they had a Dance-a-thon! At first Nathan was really disappointed since he had been looking forward to this for a long time. But once the music started playing he had no problem bustin' a move the rest of the time! He really got into it and was fun to watch!!!

Newborn Pics

Our friend, Christie (christiehobson.com), took Maggie's newborn photos for us and I seriously love them all! She does such a great job. These were taken when Maggie was just a week old. I feel like she has already changed so much, but I love that this stage is captured in these beautiful photos. Thanks again, Christie- we cant wait for you to take our family pictures this Summer!!!

St. Patrick's Day

The Sunday before St. Patrick's Day my parents hosted a St. Patrick's Day party at their house for all of the grandkids. Everyone wore green and the meal was complete with corned beef and cabbage, green salad, green jello, rolls and mint oreo ice cream dessert. I have never eaten corned beef and cabbage before and it was SO good! It might have to be a new tradition in our family!

On St. Patrick's Day the boys were really excited to come home from school and find that a leprechaun had left chocolate gold coins on their pillows!

Maggie looked so cute in her little shamrock dress and leggings!

No pinching for Maggie- only love from her big brother!

Getting ready to eat our green dinner...

The meal included green milk, broccoli, green bread, green chicken and mushroom pasta and rainbow jello.

Jon's mom spent all day making her famous rainbow jello. The boys helped her with the layers and it turned out perfect as usual!

It was fun to have Grandma here to celebrate with us!

Happy Green Day!!!
