The Truth

So I've been feeling bad about how deceptive I have been with the pictures I've been posting of myself on my blog! Of course I'm going to post pictures that don't make me look as big as a house. But I figure that I am now 2 days away from giving birth and that it is time that you all see the truth. So here I am in all of my pregnant glory! Enjoy!!!

Since I am posting bad pictures of myself, I figure that I might as well include this one of Jon and I at The Phantom of the Opera last week. I have always wanted to see it and I absolutely loved it! There was an earthquake about halfway through the show which made it all the more exciting. The epicenter was right where we were, but luckily it was only a magnitude of 3.1 so it wasn't bad. Never a dull moment living in Southern California!

Happy Easter!

We had a really fun Easter weekend! We started the festivities yesterday by dying Easter eggs. The boys loved dropping the eggs in the cups and then seeing what color they turned out to be.
Here are the finished eggs and the proud boys who dyed them!
The Easter bunny then paid a visit Saturday night and this is what he left.
Jake and Nate were pretty excited to wake up to baskets of candy that they got to eat before eating breakfast- what nice parents they have!
We have 9:00 church so we had to hurry and get ready to go. The boys looked so handsome in their new Easter outfits! Jake gave a talk in Primary for the first time today and although he was excited and practiced it well at home, he froze when he got up there and just stood there trying to eat the microphone. So I guess you could say that I got to give a talk in Primary today!
Showing a little brotherly love!
After church we had an Easter egg hunt in our backyard and then we went to my sister, Holly's house for Easter dinner and had another Easter egg hunt there. Needless to say that the boys got enough candy to last them a really long time.

Jake needed a few baskets to fit all of his eggs in!

Nathan and his cousin, Laney, found these hats at Holly's house and Nathan didn't take his off the whole time we were there. He also loved the binoculars- I think I know what to get him for his birthday that is coming up!
So my food assignment was dessert (surprise, surprise) so I made this strawberry cake and this chocolate bundt cake. I thought that both turned out pretty good. (Shhh...don't tell my doctor that I had a piece of each!)

Overall, I think the boys really had a great day and it was fun to see them get so excited about everything. I hope that everyone else had a Happy Easter!

Baby Shower!!!

Some of my friends in the ward threw me a baby shower tonight and it turned out so nice! The decorations were so cute, the food was delicious and the company was great! People were really generous with their gifts and I'm so excited to have new clothes for baby Max instead of just hand me downs. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a special night. Only 2 weeks to go before this kid gets here!

The yummy food!

All of the pregos- Rachel, Cortney, Sarah, Robyn, Christina and Sunny

Opening gifts- my friend Cortney made this onsie and burp rags for baby Max- they are so cute!!!

Carli was really excited to come and has talked about it for the last few weeks! My mom made this quilt for Max and it turned out so adorable- I love it!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

It's a tradition in our family to have a green dinner on St. Patrick's Day so this year I made it complete with green bread, green rice with green Italian chicken, asparagus and green lemonade. I think I covered every shade of green on the plate! It may not look very appetizing, but I thought it all tasted pretty good! I hope that everyone had a fun "Green Day" as well!!!

New Path

We had this path built in our backyard this week so that the kids can ride their bikes and scooters around and not have to be in the street in the front yard. So far Jake and Nathan are loving it! We still have a lot of work to do in the backyard- Jon is going to lay all new sod this weekend (hopefully) and we need to clean up the palm trees and the bark on the outside. This has been something we have been wanting to do since we moved in and I'm so excited that we finally got it done!

The Nursery

We've been working really hard on getting Max's room all set up and we are pretty much done. I still have some things to hang on the wall, the bed needs more pillows, and we are going to build shelves in the closet, but other than that it is ready to go! Jon was the manual labor behind it all and I was the creative inspiration! I think Jon did a great job- especially with the wainscoting. Hopefully baby Max will love his new room!

Utah Trip

We had such a fun time in Utah this past weekend! We left on Thursday afternoon and drove to Cedar City. Friday morning we met Jon's mom and sister in Holden and gave them Jake and Nathan to watch for the next day and a half. Jon and I then drove to Provo where we had Gondolfo's for lunch, walked around the new BYU Legacy Hall (one of the highlights of the trip for Jon!), visited my sister Wendy, and stopped by the LDS Distribution Center to pick up some maternity garments! After that we headed to Salt Lake City and met up with some of our good friends from dental school. We ate at Rodizio's at Trolley Square and then went back to our hotel and all just talked and hung out. Saturday morning we went to Ikea and had breakfast and shopped. Jeremy and Natalie then headed home and Andrea and I spent the rest of the afternoon shopping at Roberts Crafts and Thai Pan. It was so much fun to see our good friends- we really miss living close to them!

Jon and I then met Wendy and her husband, Derek and daughter, Norah at Burger Supreme in Provo and had dinner. We then headed down to Delta and got there right in time for the Delta High School Boys Basketball play-off game! Delta won in overtime so it was a pretty exciting game to watch. Jon had fun remembering back to the days when he played on that same court! The rest of the weekend was spent hanging out with Jon's family and taking the boys sledding and letting them play in the snow. Jake and Nathan loved the attention they got from Jon's family and have been asking all day today if they can go to Grandma's house! We drove home late Monday night and although we had a great trip, it's always so nice to be back home safe and sound!

Sarah, Andrea and Natalie at Trolley Square.

Andrea is due only 6 weeks after me and is about half my size- it's so not fair!

Jon, Jeremy and Ryan were wiped out after our shopping trip to Ikea!

Jake and Nate hanging out with Jon's sisters.

Now Nathan really looks like Ralphie from "A Christmas Story"!!!

Jake's gloves were a little big and he just kept pulling them off- I finally just gave up on putting them back on!

Jon was trying to pull Jake on the sled, but Jake fell off of the back!

The boys sledding down the hill together.

Nathan trying to make a snow angel!

Jon and the boys had so much fun making this snowman!
