Our Trip to Boise, Idaho!

Our good friends from dental school, The Paynes, moved to Boise last Summer after graduation. It was so sad to say goodbye to them and we have missed them a lot this past year. We decided to come to my parent's cabin in Island Park, Idaho for our Summer vacation this year and so it worked out that we could go to Boise for a few days and visit the Paynes. It was so much fun! We have ever been to Boise before and we really liked it. It's the perfect mix of small and big town and has a lot of new areas and growth. Their house is so cute and so nice. I'm jealous that we'll most likely never be able to live in a brand new house living down in Southern California. Andrea's a really good decorator and hostess.

The first night we took a walk around their neighborhood and let the kids play at the park. The next day was Sunday and so we took a drive around Boise and they showed us the sights of the town. We then went to their ward (at least I did- their ward doesn't start until 3:00 in the afternoon so Jon stayed home while the boys took naps). That night Andrea made Cafe Rio chicken salads that were delicious! She is a really good cook.

Monday we went to Roaring Springs which is a big water park about 5 minutes from their house. It was so much fun- the boys loved it. There were a lot of rides that they could ride and a couple big areas just for kids. There was one big slide that you layed on your stomach on a mat and rode down. It was pretty high up but Jake and Nate really wanted to try it. We took them up there and they each went down on their own mats. It was really cute and we were so proud of them for being so brave. I wish we had a picture of them, but we took a video of it instead so if I ever figure out how to post a video I'll put it on here. That night we put the kids to bed and got Cheesecake takeout- another delicious meal. We then stayed up playing Apples to Apples which I had never played before- it was a really fun game- I recommend it to anyone who likes playing games.

Tuesday morning we packed up and headed out. We are now at the cabin so stay tuned for more pictures and stories of our trip here. Overall we had a great time in Boise and appreciate Ryan, Andrea, Bailey and Ellie for being such great friends. We miss them already!!!
We stayed at Jon's sister, Annie's house in Cedar City on our way to Boise. Her house is also really nice and decorated very cute. There was this tractor sitting outside so of course the boys were excited to play on it. They've never seen a tractor up close like this!
Ryan and Jon in front of the "Smurf Turf" at Boise State University. Jon was really excited since he is now a Boise State fan after their game against Oklahoma last year! We couldn't believe how much more blue the field looked in person than on TV.
Jon made up this game in the Payne's backyard. The kids would all line up on one side of the yard and then run and jump over the rope. We think Bailey is going to be a star hurdler when she is older- look at that form!
The boys loved this teeter totter at the water park.
Jake loved going down this slide in one of the kiddie parts of the park.
Nathan was so brave to go down it as well- what little dare-devils!

You are way too nice....I learned everything I know about decorating from you! It was so much fun having you guys here, you are welcome anytime. The girls don't want to do the jump rope game anymore, they said it isn't as fun without Jake and Nate. Hope you are having a great time at the cabin.

Looks like you're going to have a couple Nadadores in the family! Seriously, are you on a never-ending vacation? We're visiting your neck of the woods this weekend and the last weekend in August. Try to fit us in for a visit if you're in town!

Cute pics....

I thought you were home when I saw this. Thanks for getting my hopes up.

What great pictures. I like how Nathan is holding the rope during the "rope game" too. You guys are making your way all over the states on your way to Boise. I can't wait to see more pictures at the cabin.
